Hey guys,

It was one hell of a tough last week... let's see 3 losses, 3 games we could've won, 3 games where we were short in players, 3 games where we were short in pitchers (P-Ro had to pitch all three), 3 poor defensive games... the list goes on.

I can't blame the players that were there for the crappy performances.. as being one of them, these 3 games in the last week have definitely taken a toll on the body when you know you are going to be short players..  it's more for those players who didn't or 'couldn't' show up that I blame these losses on... So guys, or specifially players that don't show up, can you give a Bowge sized shit of this team? I'm not asking for no Tawma sized after some Taco Bell, all I am asking is Bowge.. Bowge for fuck's sake!!

With that out of the way, I'm going to take some time to highlight some good performances that were noticed during the last few games.. For the good, with his new position in the lineup, Lamothe has been performing extremely well. Though I have the total stats compiled, I didn't pull out exact figures for the last three games, all I know is Lamothe leads the team in runs and stolen bases and has been slowly bringing his average up! Way to go Jimmy!! Though I don't see a point in mentioning it given that the guy hardly understands what I'm writing - caliss de tabarnak mr. tzigidoo - I also noticed a considerable increase in Laeuh's offensive performances. I mean he is getting contact the goold old beef style and is running bases like there's no tomorrow (literally.. I'm occassionally afraid for the opposing team's basemen) and even giving Fern a run for his money when it comes to speed! As for the middle of the lineup, though Thomas and P-Ro's have cooled down these last few games, they're both maintaining high averages and on-bases.. which is good. I guess this means we are going in the right direction, and with a good pitcher, we should be able to get at least passed the first round in the playoffs.

Next game is tomorrow, or Tuesday, August 19th at 7:30PM at Ballentyne Park vs. Phillies. See you all there..

Fellow Chossmates,

Ouch, ouch and ouch… that last game versus the Spos hurt as much as I would imagine that psycho catcher on the Spos’ UFC style knee/punch/break your nose hit to Geoff’s face! OK maybe not that much, but tabarnac. I would probably say its hurting as much as the dam scrapes on my knee that never seem to disinfect! It’s a game that we should’ve won and a game that was definitely not as close as it seemed.

There were not many people to blame for this loss as the offense was great with awesome hard hits by Tawma, Rone, Fern, P-Ro worth a whopping 16 runs. In fact, our team batting average increased by 40 points just with that game (.255 to .295)! And, though the scorekeeper didn’t call many errors on our defense (he called one error on me when I clearly had 5.. and I don’t mean, 3.5 or 4… really 5!), I found the pitching to be good while P-Ro had to deal with some major fuck ups in the infield that could have seriously reduced his run total and increased his overall efficiency on the mound. So overall, I can’t say I was disappointed with our team performance this game (NOTE: Team Performance) as we had many flashes of Post Season 1 Chossers and we all seem to be on the right track especially on the offense side.

That still doesn’t stop me from saying that my performance was as shitty as Laeuh’s penis after prolonged intercourse with Lamothe. Let’s see: 1 CS, 1 victim of an outfield assist at home, 5 errors, including one easy pop-up shades of Rone during season 1 through 3, 0 for 3, hit into double play to end the game, scraped the shit out of my knee.. yeah, hands down worst game of my not so short career. Even if I don’t believe this type of performance will persist, I will be adjusting my position in the batting order leaving room for Bubba to take over the 2 spot. With his speed and great batting average (.400), Bubba seems like a perfect fit for the spot and I truly believe he can contribute more than I have over the course of the season (I’m 1 for 15 CALISS) and turn this Chossers drought around!

Another important note: the game scheduled July 27th is going to be rescheduled to a later date during that following week. I have asked for a game either Tuesday, July 29th or Thursday, July 31st.

Our next game is this Sunday, July 13th, 2008 at 4PM at Ballentyne versus the Jays (for those of you who don’t know, refer to this site for the schedule: http://baseballwestisland.wetpaint.com/page/Schedules?t=anon ). Let’s take this game and begin our first winning streak!

Hey  Chossers,

I'm actually kind of pissed right now because I wrote about 75% of a very long e-mail and somehow lost all of it when I pressed backspace. So now Iʼm stuck writing this e-mail on a Word document so to avoid having to go through the same blood pressure rising problem. So you might see a slightly angrier Joltinʼ Joe (fuck I hate laptops), and so, try to take all of my comments with a slightly larger than usual grain of salt.

I'm sure a lot of you may have been asking yourselves one of the following: 1) What is Joe doing, what is taking so long for these updates? 2) Do we still even have a baseball team? 3) Why the fuck doesnʼt Rone slide when he is stealing a base on a close play? Is it so fucking hard? I mean we all scream for him to do it and we have been playing baseball for the last three years! Not like he runs like the wind, or is the most heads up base runner! For the sake of all that is good, slide! Slide! Slide!

The truth is a combination of the following (in no order of importance) has contributed to this lack of updates:  work, us sucking sweaty balls, the schedule sucking sweatier balls, us having forgotten to pick up the latest score sheet so that I provide updated stats (that will have to wait until after next game) and a general lack of excitement related to the team this year. The good news is, our team is going to get better, the schedule already got better, Iʼll be receiving the latest score sheet next game and the excitement is already back. So expect an update every Sunday (yes, thatʼs right even after tomorrowʼs game) and if everyone can put just a little give a shit attitude in the up and coming game, I think we can seriously turn this season around and bring the Chossers back where they belong!!

First things first, schedule. As I hope all of you noticed, we did not participate in this yearʼs annual food bank tournament. The decision was strongly influenced and headed by Tawma, and served as a means of showing the league that our schedule was shit and that they couldnʼt just shove crappy scheduled games down our throat. It ended up working out: our schedule for the last 10 games is better than ever (see attached schedule) and I received many apologies for the leagueʼs commissioner, Michael Beaton, for the mishap. I thanked Michael as he really did what he could to make the second half of the season more pleasurable than the first. Hell of a fucking change compared to our last commissioner!  As a matter of fact, our next scheduled game is Sunday, June 28, 2008 (tomorrow) at 4PM at Terra Cotta versus the Spos. So I expect all of you to show up and help turn this season around (yes, that includes you FEROCE!!).

Second, general play. Our pitching and defense has been as bad as the top of the orderʼs batting. At this point I would say P-Roʼs arm is as sore as Lamotheʼs anus after an average night with the twins in the dungeon. Our defense takes erroneous to the next level: I think we can let Rone up on that one for a little while. And, finally, except a few great performances, our bats are plain old dead. I can say for myself, that with my 1 hit, Iʼm as useful as a hitter as Zigsʼ arm! Now, Iʼm going to go with practice and the fact that weʼve been getting mercied every game as an excuse for our lack of hitting, but come on guys, I think itʼs time for all of us to take a trip to the batting cages (today is a great day for that) and get those batting numbers up!

As for the defense and pitching. Defense, the cure to our problem lays in the inability of many of our players to show up to games regularly. So, all of you, pretty please with a cherry on top, show up to the fucking games on time with your equipment. Pitching, I am in talks with Michael to bring one of the ex-Royals pitchers to our team. I should have more news from him for next game so hopefully we can get someone to provide some much needed relief as of next game Sundayʼs game.  If any of you have any friends that can pitch, now is the time to bring him on because as of a given date in July, our rosters must be complete for the playoffs, so get on it!!

I will also be speaking to Lamothe to get the website up as soon as possible and you will be receiving the updated MVP of the week, Goat of the week and stats as soon as I receive him after next game (Sunday night).

Well that's it!

See you all tomorrow!

Fellow Chossers,

I would first like to apologize for the long delay on the season and playoff wrap-up. I've been tied up at work and now I am forced to send you this e-mail during the day of my freakin' birthday! No problems, I like sending out these e-mails...

First, to start, I will wrap up the season. We had a very interesting season with full of Chossers moments, more to add to a history of really weird and fucked up events. There were many ups and downs, and though I did feel our team was somewhat weaker this season than last season, there were definitely many fun times. In general, the core Chossers team saw some improvements in the style of play and general quality of play, and that always tends to be a good sign. Other good things, we did not have too much trouble getting players to show up to games, many thanks to dedicated players such as, Tawma, who currently has a record breaking iron man streak of 55 games going strong, Steve-O and Rob among others. The attitude in the dugout seemed also more upbeat with again thanks to players such as Steve-O and of course, as always, Fern. Of course, I definitely believe the league has reduced their quality of umping with very questionable calls all season long, and in general, their want to satisfy the people who make them (the teams and players!) with horrendous schedules and umps less enthusiastic than Rone when he finds out they are planning to cut the grass on the field. Nevertheless, I can say that I was looking forward to pretty much every game this season, and I only hope most of you felt the same way. The MVP of the Week link of the site will have a total recap of the season with the awards (and knocks), namely:

- MVP of the Year
- Most Improved Player
- Best Ourree-you Moment
- Goat of the Year (Defense)
- Goat of the Year (Offense)

The playoffs of 2007 were also filled with excitement and nail biters. We fought hard against both the 'Spos and the Mets to the final out. Some of the games versus the Spos and Mets really demonstrated our clutch-like performances, with specific players stepping up when it came time. Unfortunately, the playoffs ended on a sour note with our star player really fucking up his back on the final out of the game. Just so you all you know, Le Feroce is still pretty banged up with a pretty bad lombar strain. He's out for another couple of weeks, so anyone with half a heart should show some support: blowjobs and hand jobs would be greatly appreciated.

I understand that several players have already told me that they would not be returning next season for various reasons, including, Steve, Ian and Ketan. There are also other players that simply will not be invited to return next season to the team. We're not sure who just yet, but whoever it is, I will be definitely letting you know. For better or for worst, I'd like to generally thank all of you guys for playing on our team this season - hope you all enjoyed it and maybe got a little bit of exercise at the same time!

Now, the BBQ. The Chossers will be having their final BBQ to close out the season on Labor Day, September 3rd, 2007 @ 4PM. All of you are invited. The address:

31 Barwick Island
Pierrefonds, Quebec
H8Z 3A1

For Directions coming from the East or Downtown:
Take Highway 40 West
Exit St-Jean's Blvd. North
Take St-Jean's all the way to the end (until Gouin Blvd.) and turn right
Take your first LEFT
Turn Left (small fork in the road) on Barwick Island
The number is 31 and its the second house on your right

I will be probably be calling most of you to confirm. If anything, call me: 514-585-5088.

Well, that closes out the season. If I don't see you on Monday, have a nice offseason and keep hitting those batting cages!

Hey les gars,

I think I've been seeing some major change in myself, sending out two emails in the span of less than a week.. I think it's the weather....!

So a recap on the Blacksmiths game for those of you who couldn't make it; it was actually a pretty interesting game. We started off the game poorly falling in a 10-2 deficit and came back all the way to 10-9 until we lost the game 14-9 because the umps were being very anal and decided to call off the game at 3:20PM because of the BS 2h30 rule (even though they clearly showed up to the game at 2:20PM..). Nevertheless, I think it was generally a fun game to be apart of and most importantly, there was some improvements in the general attitude on the field. That's good considering were playing these cocks next week, twice.

Notably, I liked the performances from the top of the order, with Fern back, and Bubba swinging better, and Tawma continuing to rip the ball. Lamothe also seemed to find his swing, and though I struck out badly twice, I helped continue a nice rally we had in the 4th. Ian, though he lets ten runs, definitely had his moments on the mound with his couple of Ks. Also, pleasantly surprising performances by Lamothe and Rob on defence, with showing of good range. All in all, it was generally an improvement ! I guess some people actually listened to my advice about the jerking off thing.. ok maybe Rone took it a little too far, and seemed to lose control of the jerking off (clearly, given his tardiness to the game!!), but all in all, I think it really paid off for some of us.

Let's bring it up an extra notch and have everyone show up to next game on Saturday, July 28th, 2007 at 7PM at Terra Cotta vs. the Blacksmiths and finally win one!

Next order of business. Money for jerseys. After some time, some of you got your jerseys on Saturday. Basically, the way I've decided to make this work, those of you who did indeed get jerseys, and plan to stay with the team next year as well, will have to pay the full amount for the jersey which is $60. Those of you who are planning to leave are to have jerseys with no name on 'em, pay nothing but RETURN them at the end of the season. So, given that you do have have names on them, Rob & Matt will need to pay the balance they owe for the jerseys next game. Ketan, I will need your money for the rest of the team payment as well next Saturday. Let's get this over with already guys!

Some good news. The jerseys are very near completion. The jerseys are finished and now my mother is doing the lettering - so we should be expecting them very soon. Please do not forget your MONEY!

Hey boys,

How's everyone been? I'm asking because its been one hell of a while before I saw many of the usuals at the games these passed weeks. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having !

I am truly sorry for the delay on this urgent update. My laptop was experiencing some technical difficulties for a week or so, and the other two weeks or so, I must say I wasn't quite in the mood to write anything about our amazing team. So here goes:.

These passed two weeks: there was some good news, there was some bad news. We got our asses handed to us by our archrival Blacksmiths including the fat fuck umpire/player who wasn't beaned for some reason after running AGAIN after one of our players got injured. (I'm writing this in this update so that one out of the 15 players will actually remember the bean the fat ass next time we play him...) But, there is that light at the end of the tunnel. We killed the Imperials... in a forfeit. Sure, we got some practice down, and we learned how crappy many of us are at batting (I won't name names, no real point, don't want to put anyone down - I think offense is very crucial at this point), but bottom line is, I feel like there's missing some excitement, devotion, dedication and give a shit attitude this year.

So, if you have to jerk off that one extra time a week (or jerk someone else off that one extra time a week if you're Lamothe or Rone) to lift your spirits up then do it, do something, do anything!! We are going to be having a team BBQ at the Ahdoot household sometime in the next couple of weeks just for that reason and I expect everyone to show up, and drink alot.

The next game is Saturday July 21st @ 1 PM versus the Blacksmiths at Ballantyne park. Let's just win guys!

Some good news. The jerseys are very near completion. The jerseys are finished and now my mother is doing the lettering - so we should be expecting them very soon. Please do not forget your MONEY!

Hey Chossers,

It's been sometime since I last sent an update, and I can truly say it is because our last game versus the 'Spos was shameful. People that weren't there, which was a lot more than ACCEPTABLE, asked me what the score was, and for the first time this year, I was speechless. Why was I speechless? 1) I didn't know the exact score because I had lost count of the number of runs they scored; 2) Even if I did remember, I knew that the number of runs was a number my pride wasn't letting me say; 3) I forgot the third reason - fuck it has been a while.

Nevertheless, the good news is, it didn't count towards our season and it was a really long time ago which basically means we can turn over a new leaf and start playing some real baseball.

Next, schedule and next games. Thought the website hasn't been updated as much as I would want given that Lamothe's brain has been not working for the past couple of weeks (he had his brain working for a few days and a row, so now were stuck paying due to the law of averages). Nevertheless, most of the time people call me, the website has been updated. So if everyone started using something called the 'Internet' and accessing something called our 'Website' they'd be able to know when and where the next game is, but hey, given that I am in such a good mood today, I will remind you:

Sunday, July 8th, 2007 @ 4PM vs. the Blacksmiths @ Terra Cotta.

Last order of business, jerseys. We went through a major delay, but luckily, are now back on track. I will have more news for all of you before the end of next week.

So, our next game is really big, given that they are pretty much our rivals. So, guys, please, with a cherry on top, get to fucking practicing!!!!!

Drive safely.

Hey les boys,

I hope everyone is doing well, enjoying the weather, feeling in a better mood ever since we traded Samsonov, and enjoying the fact that he has his learner's permit (apparently so, because he reminded me to tell everyone in this e-mail!) And no, I'm not talking about Lamothe. He panicked.

First things first, our foodbank weekend. All things considered, it was generally good. Team 990 whipped our asses, but we destroyed the Fat Cats with 8 players. There was a strong record offensive performance by Tawma, it marked the Zigs-O-Rigs comeback, and we got 4 runs in one inning against an amazing 990 pitcher. Most importantly though, we advanced to the second round of the foodbank tournament, which is Saturday, June 23rd @ 4PM @ Terra Cotta versus the Spos. After the last game versus the Spos, this game has been classified as a MUST-WIN. So I'd like to see everyone's A game..

Next order of business, jerseys. The work is coming along very well for the jerseys, which means I will need to get paid. Saturday is the DEADLINE. THe following people must bring the money for the jerseys on Saturday: Steve-O, Ian, Rob, Nick, Matt & Ketan. Ketan, you also have to bring the rest of the money for the registration which I had temporarily forgot about, which is an additional $60. I don't want have to run after people for money, so everyone, stop being siah and start paying your damn bills!!!

See you on Saturday.

Hey les crisses,

Ayoye - ca va mal. Tres, tres, tres, mal a shop! We are currently on a 4-game losing streak, and have fallen under .500. Yes, the games were close, but the type of teams we were playing combined with the number of chances to score we got makes it such that these losses were nothing short of disasters.

Given that I haven't sent an email in some time,  I can't mention all the pluses and minuses of the games, and seeing as I would probably like to forget those games rather than reminisce, this e-mail will mainly focus on our last game, against the 'Spos.

The key number for the Spos game, and some other things in general; 4. The total number of hits in the game; The average number of times Lamothe pleases himself in a day; The total number of runs we got in the first inning (and 3 for the rest of the game); The number of times Rob whined because he didn't get to take the field; The number times we struck out against the lobber (I WISH! We struck out 6 times against that guy!!); Total number of strikeouts by P-Ro (he had 3 all of last season!) . Yeah sure we got a lot more than 4 walks, but we should've taken that game. Nevertheless, given that I did see 'The Secret', and like to look at the bright side, there was a strong offensive performance by the Albino, and Lamothe has been showing some amazing offensive numbers while leading the team in AVG and RBIs. Keep it up guys !

Good news now. My mom has been putting some long hours into getting those jerseys ready - so we should have them in about two weeks! Also, along that note, the cost of the jerseys is going to be $70. If you are one of the following players, you will need to have that money ready for the foodbank tourney; Rob, Ian, Steve-O, Ketan and Matt (only owes $30). You will find the amounts owed on the 'Chossers (2007) file'.

About the foodbank tourney, the schedule will be posted on the Chossers website during the week. I believe it starts one week from today against Team 990. Please not, that every player must bring some canned food (I think 2-3 cans each) and $5 each to be eligible to play. Also, the first two games of the foodbank tourney count against our schedule, so no slacking off!

Finally, note that I will be posting two MVP of the weeks, one for last week and for the this week - so check it out!

I'm out -

JOLTIN' JOE

May 30th, 2007| - Jonathan Ahdoot

Hey peeps ,

These last four days have been a definite rollercoaster. We went 2-1, scored 35 runs, allowed alot less, committed 12 errors, had a bunch of strikeouts, struck out alot less, and generally played some pretty decent ball. Sure, the last game vs. the Blues probably should've been won but finding out that we have a decent arm in Lamothe, that Rob can actually get a few hits together and that Rone is still as erroneous as ever, I gotta say I'm pretty happy with what I've seen.

As I will discuss later, there were amazing offensive performances by Fern who's currently leading in all categories but one, and Lamothe, who is looking to be our RBI man of the year with a total of 8 (watch out P-Ro!). We have a couple of players still looking to get their first hits, namely, Ian and Nick, going a combined 0 for 20 and Tawma has still not begun to do it. But, with all the erroneous hits, cheesy singles, and infield hits put together, the Chossers offense is becoming smellier by the day!

Now, I don't know if I can say the same about the defense. Compared to our last year where we had an amazing defense save our catcher, our defense this year is as bad as Tawma's ball sweat smell after the double header were gonna have on Saturday. I don't want to start to point fingers, though I will because I'm an asshole, we have had serious problems making routine outs in the infield and outfield put together. I do understand that there are many new players this year that are clearly not used to this style of baseball, but the fact is our team is not a training camp: we're not here to wait to see people improve --- we need heads up players that can make plays. So, for that reason, there are going to be some changes in the infield which may mean that some players won't see as much field time as they would like. Don't be insulted, everyone goes through this phase where they realize they are not as good as they think they are. I went through it at pitcher, second base, shortstop; Rone went through it, at first base, second base, third base, shortstop, right field, left field, center field, catcher, 1st base coach, 3rd base coach, batboy, albino's boyfriend, and so on.

To start, Rob. You won't be playing in the infield anymore as we see you have a weaker range than we would like, and you have had some trouble making some routine plays, ok, alot of trouble - you have a total of 6 errors. You will be playing in the outfield. Next, Ian. Similarly, though you haven't had much experience in the infield, I've noticed some positioning problems. No big deal, you'll be in the outfield as usual. Finally, Matt. Though I know you put your heart out when you play, your injuries and the fact that there is some lack of experience in your positioning and play calling, you will also be in the outfield for now on. Thus, I expect the outfield to be shared between, me, Bubba, Rob, Ian, Matt and Rone. There will be larger shifts than usual, and I will not be playing every inning to try and make sure everyone gets many innings. The infield on the other hand will be something like this with orders in priority:

1B Lamothe / Ketan / Nick
2B Fern / P-Ro / Ketan
SS Ketan / P-Ro / Fern
3B Thomas / Lamothe
C   Steve-O

Clearly, if people don't make it to games and were short, Matt, Ian and Rob, will have a chance to play in the infield. But on a regular basis, we expect this to be our defensive lineup.

Anyways, that's that. We have a big weekend coming up with a double header versus the Mets. Lets get prepped, and whip some booty! Enjoy your weeks everybody!

Chossers,

Judging by the Lamothe level of harrassment I've been going through for these dam stats, I'm guessing you guys seem to be pretty excited about getting them. Now of course that does show a level of excitement and belonging that is definitely good for the team, but I mean come on people, hold your brains (you know which ones I'm talking about) and take it easy.

The weekend went ok considering our strong finish on Sunday versus the Fat Cats, who are 2-2 by the way. There was some interesting moments, including the unforgettable Matt's lamothesque baserunning disaster double-play and Rone managing to get an out playing in the infield somehow.    The first game was forgettable with poor offensive and defensive performances against the Imperials, but the good news is, we played a solid game on Sunday versus the Fat Cats and I believe this should give us enough momentum for the coming big weekend where we have games on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Notables for the weekend, strong offensive performances from Bubba & Rone, and some good pitching by Fern. Yes, our new guys have yet to post batting averages yet, but I saw some more confidence in Steve-O and Ian at the plate. Lets keep that confidence high, and get to start hitting the ball ! Everyone should be at the batting cages at least once a week to get some swings in, and get used to hitting balls that go faster

Next, JERSEYS. Though I must say Steve's #1 T-Shirt, and Ian's mix of ghetto t-shirts with odd numbers do like kinda funny, I think its about time we get everyone some jerseys. For that reason, I will need Matt, Steve, Ian and Rob to send me their requested numbers and sizes for their jerseys so that I can get the ball rolling for that.

So, before you call me at 6PM on Saturday to ask me where the game is, just think about Lamothe. Think about all the numerous minutes he put in to the Chossers website he so well designed while taking a break from his reggaeton, or after finishing a battle in dod, or after watching jessica drake. Think about Lamothe..... and, just fucking check the WEBSITE!!!

Hey Chossers,

Man-o-man, got a Lexington Steele long email to write. So fellow chossers, bear with me. First things first, I would like to apologize for the delay. Apparently some of you were panicking to get the stats, even though you clearly already know what you're batting given that you had a maximum of 3 at bats. Well, glad to see no one has changed!

I wanna start by talking about the good game we had to start off the season. The pitching was very good, with a total of 14 Ks thrown in 7 innings. Yes, thats 2/3 of the outs! Probably a chossers record. Our defense was ok - including a good performance from our new catcher, Steve-O who's only 22 by the way. Our offense wasn't the same. Though the Albino went 2-2, we struck out 15 times and only had 5 hits. Sure, I'm not one to talk with my hat trick. My performance was almost as bad as Matt's baserunning, or Rone's sliding! But all that shows is that we gotta hit the batting cages, and yeah all the usual. But all in all guys, great job !

Secondly, money. The good news is, all the people I had asked money from last time we spoke have paid. The bad news is, we got a whole bunch of new players. Find attached a list of the players and the amounts they owe. As well, you'll see in the same spreadsheet, a worksheet with the 2007 Jerseys to make. The amounts in the remaining are to be paid before the coming game in whole and in cash. Which means, I will need to get $160 in cash from each of the players in that list by Friday, May 18th. Some of you may think I'm a hard ass, but the fact is, I don't have time to chase people for money and I see this as a good way of seeing whether or not you are truly ready to dedicated yourself to this team.

Thirdly, this falls along the same line as the last paragraph. The fact of the matter is, we are TOO many players. When we had our game last Friday, I came in to this season thinking we were going to be short. That day an additional 5 players showed up to play, and well, it changed the perspective. We went on to play that game and the one after with 14 players in the batting order, which is simply TOO much. Players complained about not having batted enough, players complained about not playing on the field enough. This is definitely not what I want for my team. So, after much discussion with some of the other players, we determined that we would limit the number of regular players to 15. To give an idea, before the game on Friday, we were a total of 12 players, and given that 5 additional showed up, we decided we needed to place between 2 and 3 of those players on the reserve roster which are players that are called in the event we are short players, or special positions. Reserve players also pay $15 per game rather than the full season at once. The following players have been placed on the reserve roster: Patrick White & Steven 'Wally' Wallace. The decision wasn't based on anything in particular, and I am certainly not trying to finger someone out. If I did indeed lead you on, I apologize for that, but I'm sure you will understand I'm only trying to be fair to the players that signed on earlier.)

Lastly, jerseys. I will need everyone's numbers and sizes for the jerseys. Please refer to the attached file for the numbers that are currently taken and reply to this email providing me the information.

This email, as well as, the updated Stats, MVP of the Week, Roster Profiles, Standings and our next scheduled game should all be posted on the website.

In the meantime, hit the batting cages, and remember to take it easy.

Hey chosses,

It was nice to see a total of 9 players show up to the game on Saturday - love the dedication. So I tip my hat to the Cod, Tawma, Albino N, Albino N's brother-in-law, Bubba, the Gnome, the Hick, Lamothe, and most importantly, the Cheetah, for showing me that you care. Sure, we weren't playing the best defense, but I must say I was very impressed with the performances of our players given the circumstances. Lamothe's first career start, better than expected; Matt got a hit; Bubba hit a triple; oh yeah, and before I forget - not that I really could - I have to salute and acknowledge, the spectacular catch from Ime. I mean Jesus titty fucking Christ, that was something... and frankly, the most important part was that generally people had a good time - this game was funner than watching Bubba monkey rape Matt.

I like the way this season has started off, and I only hope it'll get better from here (kinda would help if a few more players show up). Which brings me to the point of having some people let me know if they will be showing up to our next game on Friday. We seem to have enough yeses to fill up the field, but considering its our last exhibition game, I'd like to have everyone try out.

More about the Chossers website, the new players joining the team this year namely: Matt, Nick, the other Matt, Marco, Carlos and Rob will need to provide me their requested #, Height, Weight, and date of birth. Also, all news, or these e-mails for that matter, will be posted on the website, so you can remind yourselves of how joltin' my balls are.

Last thing, JERSEYS. I will need all players wanting jerseys to provide me the name and number they want on their jersey. I will then get a quote, and tell you what it's gonna cost you. We already have two jerseys with numbers on them, that people can get names sewed on to. If I gave you one of these jerseys, it doesn't mean you're not going to have to pay for it - I will charge you less if I don't have to sew a name to it. I'm thinking right now a ballpark of $80 for the jersey with a number on it, and an extra $20 for your name sewed on to it. Matt, I have counted your extra $40 as a deposit for your jersey - are you still opting for the Lamothe emptying your semen bags before every game option? Since you mentioned it, I've already had requests from P-Ro, Rob and NIck for the service. (I think its time you ask Lamothe for some commission on that.)

Any questions, call me,

JOLTIN' JOE

Fellow silent farts (if you didn't get that by now..ca va mal a shop),

As you may know by now, our season is starting earlier than planned. We have two exhibition games scheduled (see exhibition games schedule attached). Given that I pushed to get the most exhibition games possible, I would like for the most people to show up. Yeh the times of the games kind of suck tawma nuts, namely, Saturday @ 12:15 and Friday at night, but this is definitely a good way to get a few swings in, loosen up those arms, so make an effort to show up to these games. Also, as some people have started to suggest, this would be a great time to get those friends of yours that were ex-super star baseball players to tryout and see if they would like to join the team.

If you do or don't show up to the exhibition games, you need to do the following things before Friday May 4th: 1) let me know 2) hand in your form because I need to submit all of them before the start of the season 3) pay the fucking registration fee. As I've been telling many players, if you don't see yourself making it to at least 8 games, you can always choose to be a reserve player. Reserve players are those indicated in the attached 'Chossers 2007' file and basically show up when they can or when they are needed. Reserve players pay $15 per game they show up to. And no more IOU bullshit!

If there are any questions, let me know. And don't forget to tell me whether or not you'll make it. Number: 514-585-5088.

Fellow Chossers,

It has been a long ass time with specific emphasis on the word "ass" (I don't know, guess it works with the whole Chossers theme...) Things have changed, players have come and gone (mostly gone) for the good and the medium. The good news is, we get to play some more baseball in a couple of weeks and, it won't smell as much in the dugout. The bad news is I still haven't gotten paid and it looks like december out there. You'll find attached in the file called 'Chossers(2007)' a list of players that have showed some interest in playing with the amounts they owe.

Second topic, shit has changed. Reed & Chris are gone and doubtfuls include Marc-Andre, Manny and Memmo who are likely to show up to a small number of games (those players, correct me if I'm wrong esti). What does this mean? We need people to show up, and show up on time. I know everyone has busy schedules on Saturdays and Sundays  and can't seem to make it on time anywhere, anytime, but this season, they enforced a fine to teams that forfeit and I get this strange wild feeling were going to be in this position several times. So, pretty please with a cherry on top, stop fucking being late!

Third topic, season schedule. Attached you will find the season schedule. Apparently, people decided to spend their time doing other things this summer, namely, work on saturdays (remember what happens to every penny you make), play too many other lame sports, start a porn company, rape Rone on the baseball field during practice, molest Lamothe in general, show their brains, and not get their licenses even though they're over 20 years old with testicles which is a total of six players for your info, and will thus not have time to play many of the games. For those players, look over the schedules so that you can tell me how many games you can show up to.

Fourth topic, we need players. Let me correct that, we need pitchers. So if anyone knows anyone that knows anyone that may have a friend that has pitched in the last two years or so, has $160 to spend, can show up to more than half the games and doesn't smell, please do let me know.

Fifth topic, new players and new jerseys. Given that we are expected to have between 4 to 5 new players since last season that don't have any jerseys, we will need to buy new jerseys. For that, I will need those players, namely Nick, Adam and Matt for now, to provide me their requested name and number to be on the jersey. You guys should note that we already have two no-named jerseys with the numbers 5 & 7. The costs of these no-named jerseys and the new ones will be determined soon, but first I need the information, so reply to the email with this information. Chossers must submit preliminary choices for player names. So get original!

Sixth topic, we are beginning to update the website for the 2007 season. So please refer to the website for more information: www.chossers.com. I will not be sending updates through email anymore: everything will be posted on the website. Also, if you have facebook, join the Chossers Baseball group.

Finally, we will be holding regular practices on Saturdays at Pierrefonds Sportsplexe (next to PC school, off Pierrefonds Blvd) between 2 PM and 6 PM, so you're all welcome and encouraged to come and see how much you've gotten worst in the last year. Seriously, everyone should be practicing, defense, offense, pitching and catching.

I'm tired of writing - so, if there's any questions, call me at 514-585-5088 or email me at jahdoot@hypertec.ca.

Hey people,

I can’t believe it, but the season is over! Yes, the Chossers have just officially finished their second season. It was a special season, maybe a little less fun than last year, though I can tell you one thing, we all learned a lot more about baseball, and we all improved a lot – I won’t start naming names just yet about the different mentions I will be making, good and bad, I will wait till after the playoffs for that.

For now, I will focus on what has happened in the passed week and the playoffs coming this Saturday – CHECK YOUR SCHEDULES!! This week has been pretty awful for our team considering we were 0-3. We didn’t have too many hits, we let a whole lot of runs, and we committed a whole lot of errors. We’ve had some bad umpiring, and that is the biggest understatement of the year. Nevertheless, there were some positive notes from this week – we kept some games close despite being shorthanded in terms of players – We had respectively, 9, 8 and 8.5 players in the last three games. And about that, where the fuck when we need them the most? criss, Luc played one of the games! LUC! Also, we had some strong offensive performances from P-Ro, Lamothe, Reed.

Nonetheless, what was missing these past three games is the excitement and fun from our players we had in the beginning of the season and throughout last season. That’s why I’ve decided that after reading this email everyone should follow these procedures:

  1. Get off your lazy ass
  2. Put your shoes on (and socks if you are Rone)
  3. Get in your car (unless you’re a fucking loser that still can’t drive… we apparently have a lot of those on our team even though our average age is approximately 23!)
  4. Go to the store
  5. Pick up a syringe
  6. Inject yourself with a strong dose of ‘TAKE IT EASY!’ (also known as RELAXATIFS for those veterans)

Let’s have some fun, bitches, no stress – many players on the team have told me that they haven’t been enjoying games anymore and that really sucks. You joined this league to enjoy yourself and not to worry if your average is going to be under Lamothe’s or if you’re going have to more errors than Rone or if you’re going to run slower than… forget it. Just enjoy yourselves out there guys! Win or lose, there’s always next season, and there’s always Pedro…

Stats, MVP of the Week, Roster and Schedules have been updated. See you tomorrow.

August 5th, 2006| - Jonathan Ahdoot

Hey chossers,

Excuse me for the delay on the stats & news: I’ve been busy at work. So what has happened in the last week and a half: we lost games against the Blues and Fantasy All Stars, and won by default against Lakeshore #2. Oh what a wonderful week and a half! Caliss, we need to start picking it up – the playoffs are just around the corner.

Ok things that need to improve: OFFENSE, OFFENSE & OFFENSE. We haven’t been scoring many runs the last few games, and more importantly, haven’t been hitting the ball. I strongly suggest a few rounds of batting practice for many of our players. Our team average has fallen 40 points in the last 4 games, and that my friends, is unacceptable. I know the Ahdoot brothers haven’t been performing well, namely Zigs and myself, but others including our never failing top of the order have been mediocre. Similarly, our defense has been shameful as well. We have been committing errors by the bunches in both, the infield and outfield.

Another important piece of news for the Chossers is that Chris will not be playing another game in the season: his Concordia baseball season is starting and he is focusing on the other league as that one is his priority.

So we have our work cut out for ourselves, so lets start by taking tonight’s game against the Blues @ Terra Cotta @ 7 PM. I expect everyone to show up, to show just how committed they are to improving before the playoffs!

July 19th, 2006| - Jonathan Ahdoot

As promised, that last game against the Vets was tough, and unfortunately we ended up with the shorter end of the stick. Though there were some missing pieces to our team, I still believe we should’ve definitely won that game. The reasons we lost this game: Our defense was shameful, according to this bogus score sheet, ‘8’ errors. The pitching was poor.  This game makes me begin to realize that the same things don’t fly in this division as they do in the shittier division. Offense, wasn’t’ much better – we tallied a grand total of 6 hits during the game.

Now we’ve definitely had worst games, and considering we were missing key players in Marc-Andre (Where the fuck were you!? 3B was a disaster and we could’ve definitely used his bat) and Chris (as I said, the pitching was terrible), it wasn’t that bad, but the general attitude from some of our players, who I will name on this update, made this loss just that much worst. Maybe it was the sun, or maybe it was the fact we were playing at 12PM on a Saturday, and whatever the case, this will not be tolerated in the future.

Reed. I don’t usually have much to say about you, but I heard a variety of complaints from different players on our team that you were saying things, that well, just don’t fly. After one of our border line errors in defense while you were pitching, you went to see the score keeper “confirming” with her: “That was an error, right!” Now, I don’t know what you are trying to achieve by doing that, unless you are keeping track of your ERA, which would be on crack, but what you did there, was plain old fucked up. There are 7 players on our defense playing their asses off, RUNNING for line drive hits, making hard throws from third that most people in our league are unable to do, that get burned for being tagged with an error because you, the pitcher, is not pitching well. Think about your team before you do something like that. Complaining about the defense after every inning, and telling us you made 7 outs that inning, when you’re lobbing the ball over the plate is unacceptable. When you walked three guys in a row or let two disaster hits, the only thing you’ll hear out of our players is encouragement. That’s how our team works, and I wouldn’t expect anything less from you. This goes for all pitchers, stop blaming the defense and concentrate on your pitching. I know it is frustrating, but you’re hurting your cause when you pick on the defense because you’re increasing the chance of a repeat error.

Just like Reed, I think this game just brought our whole team down to earth. Were no longer playing the mercy teams, we have to start playing solid ball to start winning games. For that reason, people have to start practicing. Lets sweep these Blues down on Saturday and start playing some real Chossers ball in time for the playoffs.
There will be many missing players for the next few games, so I need the most possible people for next game. The following players will be missing:

P-Ro; Sat & Sun
Ben: Sat
David: Sat, Sun & Tuesday
Rone: Sat
Manny: Sat

That’s already leaving us short for Saturday, so I need everyone to come. Whoever can’t make it must let me know in advance. Just call me at (514) 591-4698. (Check the bottom left corner of your screen for when and where our next game is)

P.S.: I know this update has been generally sour, here one thing to be happy about, we got the hats so come pick them up on Saturday!

July 15th, 2006| - Jonathan Ahdoot

By now, I hope everyone has caught the point that they have to come here to get their Chossers news and stats. This section will have the recap portion of the email you were all used to receiving. For the MVP and goats of the week and explanation for the awards, refer to the top-left of your screen and click on the Click here link (I feel retarded just explaining, but hey someone’s gotta do it!). NOTE: The Chossers schedule has been entirely modified, refer to the Schedule web page of this website for the new updated schedule.

So, Game #2 vs. the Grey Sox was a definite nail bitter. Though I found that it probably shouldn’t have been, with the combination of our poor defense (7 errors!!), some poor pitching (we got knocked around for 13 runs), and well some horrible umpires (I know P-Ro, you didn’t really go 0-5). Regardless, what’s important is that we won and that we can move on to the next game, and the next division for that matter, knowing we pretty much creamed every team there, upped our record to 7-4 (yeh, that’s second in the division) and have the most runs in the league at 130 (fuck ya!).

Now that we’re back to where we belong, we have to start playing some solide baseball. The hitting was good last game with strong offensive performances by Marc-Andre (3-3 with 2 BBs) – I think with his performance this season so far, were definitely going to have to make a modification to his name on the back of his jersey (LETS GO MARC), Memmo (3-4 w/ 2 doubles) – I made a decision to count his stats even though he hadn’t played too many games, to recognize his stellar consistent offense & Reed (3 RBIs) – YES SIR!. For defense, all I can say is, ca va mal a shop! The pitching was just plain bad. I know there were some defensive miscues in the infield and outfield alike, but all in all, when the Grey Sox were hitting the ball, they were hitting it hard and on lines. Now, I don’t think its anything to worry about knowing that we have an increasingly strong rotation in Chris, P-Ro, Fern & Reed, and that we did end up winning the game, but it is important to note that we are going to have some tough games ahead of us, (next game vs. the Vets) and the outs are going to be a lot harder to come by. That’s where the defense is going to have to kick in. Though we were missing quite a bit of players last game, we need for our outfield to start getting used to catching more fly balls ( 4-5 fly balls were missed last game ) and work on better positioning with the help of my direction and of course that of the infield (just don’t listen to Fern when he tells you to come up closer – Fern’s nuts…).

All in all, were doing well – so lets keep it up! Next game is Sunday, July 15th vs. Vets @ 12PM @ Meades.  For directions to Meades, call me up.

P.S.: Reed & Chris: bring your $10 each. You are the only ones that have not finished paying!

July 6th, 2006| - Jonathan Ahdoot

That game was solide. There was some stellar defense, great pitching and well though we only hit 7 times, we clearly dominated the game. This team was undefeated -- so good job peeps. Were playing them again this Saturday @ Ballantyne @ 8 PM, so be there, and lets do this all over again...

Yes, we did play a good game, and yes, I don't believe this team should be in the same league as us, but we got our asses handed to us by their second pitcher, who the record should show had, 7 strikeouts on us, and only let 1 run. So guys, guys, hit the batting cages. We all need it, its obvious. So the naming of the Star and Goat: Star = Reed. 5 IPs, 1 ER, 5 H, 5 Ks and 1/2 w/ an RBI. Great game Reed, you've really been killing in terms of pitching the passed two games. Be ready for Saturday. Goat = Zigs. I have two words for you Zigs: hat trick :P. (lots of picking on Zigs the last two emails, but at least you can be happy about one thing Zigs, you're #1 in HBP!!)

June 27th, 2006| - Jonathan Ahdoot

Hey chossers,

Well well well - I hear last game was different. We won 14-4, good job guys! But I mean come on, the only game in the history of my tenure with the Chossers that I miss, and a player on the other team really loses his cool??!! Well, I'm glad it was none of us, and that David isn't suspended. And I mean, this is supposed to be the second to best team in this league.. lol

Other than that, I hear some players played well - namely, defensively, Reed with his 0 Earned Runs, and Manny with his diving catches (!!). And, according to this scoresheet, Manny got his first hit - so at least thats out of the way! Other notables on the list, Fern 2-2 and Lamothe yet another hit. So lots of great performances ! Considering his last game, and the improvement between the two games ( and some dramatic diving catches don't hurt) I give the Star award to : Manny, and the Goat: well... if we mercy there are no goats (lucky double (triple) error Zigs :P).

Next thing. Stats. You should notice I have begun counting Hit By Pitches by referring to Pat's stats on them. Now the number can very well be wrong, if it  is,  first relax, second, think of how many times you got hit by pitches, third, relax again if you're Zigs, fourth, kindly email me telling me how many times you were hit so I adjust it. I also added it as one of the team leader things, so at least those who get hit, have recognition for their contribution to the team. Right now, the one who has taken the most for the team is Toma. (I think its probably Zigs)

ALSO, this is probably the last of these emails you will be receiving from me on these accounts. From now on, everything will be posted on www.chossers.com the official Chossers website. You will find everything you need on this site, including standings, stats, MVP of the week, and my frequent updates. I will need everyone's weights, heights and date of births. So SEND THAT BACK TO ME ASAP. Also, on this website, by clicking on the Webmail icon, you have your own chossers email account. Username is your jersey name and default password is chossers. So example:

Ben
Username: zigs@chossers.com
Password: ********

Because Yahoo is a bitch, and I'm tired of receiving bs mail, as of July 3rd, I will only be checking emails from my chossers account. My email is joltinjoe@chossers.com.

Another thing. We will be getting our hats as soon as I get the rest of the money. So again, again, CHRIS 10 , REED 10 , LAMOTHE alot, MANNY 140, RONE 15 & P-RO 10. Please just pay and get it over with.

So next game is, Sunday July 2nd, @ 7h30 PM @ Ballantyne vs. the W.I. Royals.
